License Applications

All persons wishing to obtain a firearms licence in NSW must have a genuine reason for obtaining the licence and must meet the NSW Firearms Registrys Participation Requirements relating to that genuine reason.

The first step in applying for your licence is to contact the NSW Firearms Registry and ask to receive licence application forms.  Visit the NSW Firearms Registry website or you can call them on 1300 362 562.

In NSW you must have a genuine reason to obtain a Firearms Licence. This can be target shooting, hunting or collecting. To support each of these genuine reasons you must belong to an approved club such as Combined Shooters Club.  Fortunately members of SSAA NSW can use their membership to support their genuine reason for having a firearms licence.
